Bill introduced to prohibit Biden from creating ‘vaccination passports’ in the US.
Faced with rumors of possible future regulations forcing citizens to be vaccinated against the CCP virus by the Biden administration, Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) introduced new legislation to Congress that would prohibit federal agencies from creating so-called “vaccination passports” across the United States.
Biggs introduced the legislation Thursday in an attempt to prevent the federal government from forcing Americans to prove they have been inoculated with any of the existing vaccines before they can continue certain activities such as travel, attending public places, education, and other matters of daily life.
While proponents of such a system argue that it would be helpful in reopening businesses and the travel industry, Republicans in Congress have condemned the idea as an invasion of privacy and an opening for extreme surveillance by the government of the day.
“I am profoundly disturbed that the Biden Administration would even consider imposing vaccine passports on the American people,” Biggs said in a statement Thursday, Fox News reported.
“My private healthcare decisions—and yours—are nobody else’s business. Vaccine passports will not help our nation recover from COVID-19 (Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Virus)). Instead, they will simply impose more Big Brother surveillance on our society.”
Some governors, such as Ron DeSantis of Florida, and Greg Abbott of Texas, have already issued executive orders banning vaccine passports but only within their states. Biggs’ proposal aims to prevent any federal agency anywhere in the United States from doing anything of the sort.
In the face of increasingly widespread rumors of such a possible imposition by the Biden administration, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday that there is no intention at this time to require Americans to “carry a credential.”
It should be clarified that the rumors are not unfounded. Last week the Washington Post, published a note after speaking with five officials of the Biden administration in which it was assured: “The Biden administration and private companies are working to develop a standard way to handle credentials, often called ‘vaccine passports,’ that would allow Americans to prove they have been vaccinated against the new coronavirus as companies try to reopen.”
It even detailed that the work is being carried out by the Department of Health and Human Services, including an office dedicated to health information technology.
According to the report, the passports are expected to be free and available through smartphone apps, which could display a scannable code similar to an airline boarding pass. Americans without access to smartphones should be able to print passports.
Some nations in Europe, along with Israel, already use vaccine passports or are developing tracking methods to detect who has been vaccinated and who has not.
Unsurprisingly, the first to implement this type of social control system was the CCP. The “vaccine passport” implemented in China, a digital certification confirming that a person has received a coronavirus (CCP Virus) vaccination, is linked to China’s “social credit system,” which judges all citizens and awards them numerical “scores” based on how much the Party approves of their behavior.
The Republican bill called the “Passports Not Vaccines Act” would establish legal prohibitions preventing federal authorities from issuing in the future any standardized documentation that could be used to certify CCPV vaccination status to third parties, such as airlines, restaurants, educational institutions or law enforcement.
